Developing generation-after-next technologies for applications in defence and security.

What does the Skills and Training Hub offer? 

  • Specialised training in Energy Transfer Technologies
  • Each student funded by the Hub will have the opportunity to work alongside leading researchers, gain hands on experience in the field and have the chance to work with and train alongside experts from industry
  • Training for both research and industrial career paths
  • Mentoring from an industrial supervisor with an opportunity for an industry placement in years two and three
  • Future networking opportunities across a community of 13 academic partners and industrial partners representing all aspects of the community
  • Blended model of local and hub based learning and events
  • Part time PhD studentship options are available for those working in a relevant industry.

Funding 

Funding will cover tuition fees and a stipend set at the UKRI rate (£19,237 in 2024/2025), and funds will be available for conference attendance and training, for students to travel to industrial partners and to do longer placements with the industrial partner. Funding is available for home students and applicants must be UK Nationals.
