What does the Hub offer?
Funding
The Hub offers an enhanced stipend of £23,237 plus £7,000 per year for travel, conference attendance, and research equipment. Your tuition fees will also be fully funded by the Hub! There may also be funds available should you wish to do a longer placement with your industry partner to cover costs such as accommodation near the site. Funding is available for home students and applicants must be UK Nationals.
Training and Support
- Specialised and targeted inter-disciplinary training
- Regular cohort catch-ups that build a sense of community - our students discuss their progress and any issues they might be having with their mentor and peers
- Each student funded by the Hub will have the opportunity to work alongside leading researchers, gain hands-on experience in the field, and have the chance to work with and train alongside experts from industry
- Training for both academic and industrial career paths
- Mentoring from an industrial supervisor with an opportunity for an industry placement
- Future networking opportunities across a community of 13 academic partners and industrial partners representing all aspects of the community
- Blended model of online and in-person training events
- Part-time PhD studentship options are available for those working in a relevant industry.
